Brain surgery patient runs marathon
BAY VILLAGE, OH (WOIO)- A year after suffering a traumatic brain injury, a Bay Village man is readying to run the Cleveland Half-Marathon this weekend.
Ed Farrell spend two months in Metro after he was involved in an accident on March 19, 2011. After Farrell was released from Metro, he spent two months in physical and speech therapy.
Farrell tells 19 Action News he is running to show his doctors and therapist that their work saves lives and allows traumatic brain injury survivors the ability to get their lives back.
Sunday will be Farrell's fourth marathon, but the first since his injury.
