Kids can do their own holiday shopping in the Metroparks | Holiday

Bring the kids to The Chickadee Nest: The 6th Annual Kids-Only Holiday Shop on Saturday and Sunday, December 1 and 2 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at North Chagrin Nature Center, Rocky River Nature Center and Hinckley Lake Boathouse & Store.

Children and parents are greeted at the door by the volunteer "shopping elves." Parents fill out a form with the amount of money their children can spend, and the kids make a list of the people they would like to shop for. Then, the "elf" takes them to select gifts.

Some of the great presents they can choose include mugs, jewelry, flashlights, key chains, packets of tea or coffee and stuffed animal, just to name a few. There's something for everyone in the family!

All of the gifts are under $10, and most are under $5.

While the kids are shopping, parents can get some shopping done, as well, at the EarthWords shops. Each parent gets a discount coupon, too.

After the kids are finished shopping, they can sit and enjoy milk and cookies while a helper adds up the total and wraps and labels the presents.
