Wildwater Kingdom waterpark, northeast Ohio’s ultimate summer destination, will open for daily operation beginning today with a special event for homeschool students.

There are plenty of ways to have fun at Wildwater Kingdom.  Thrill-seekers can challenge the massive Tidal Wave Bay wave pool and the 100-foot-tall Thunder Falls, Ohio’s tallest water slide complex, while Splash Landing offers four stories of watery fun, including slides, net crawls and a giant tipping bucket that dumps 1,000 gallons of water every two minutes on guests waiting below!

Kids can enjoy their time at The Beach Family Fun Area, located next to Little Tikes Town, which features giant checker and chess boards with movable playing pieces that make the perfect play-ground for families and their youngsters.

To help kickoff the 2012 season, Wildwater Kingdom will be hosting two special events, including Homeschool Day on Friday, June 8, which will have a special presentation from The Akron Zoo and Joe Haden Day on Wednesday, June 13. The Cleveland Browns cornerback will make a public appearance at the waterpark from 3:45-5 p.m. while Chomps, the Browns Mascot, will be at the park from 1-3 p.m. This event is sponsored by Pepsi Max and 96.5 KISS-FM.

Wildwater Kingdom is open daily June 8 through Aug. 19.  The park re-opens for weekend operation Aug. 25-26 and Sept. 1-3.
