The North Olmsted Board of Education is pleased to welcome Terry Krivak to the North Olmsted City Schools to serve as the Interim Superintendent beginning August 1, 2012 due to the retirement of Dr. Cheryl Dubsky.
Krivak is an accomplished educator who served many years in the Berea City Schools, including Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent for Administration and Instruction, Director of Personnel and Employee Relations, and as a Principal, Assistant Principal and elementary teacher.
His leadership accomplishments include serving as Vice President for K-12 Education at the OAI (Ohio Aerospace Institute) and Project Director for the National Science Foundation Math and Science Partnership.
Terry has recently been involved with Ideastream (WVIZ-WCPN) as a Senior Director, and served as the Executive Director of the SMART Consortium (Science & Mathematics Achievement Required for Tomorrow) a collaborative of more than 50 school districts in Northeast Ohio dedicated to the improvement of science, technology, engineering and mathematics education.
His professional affiliations include membership in the Buckeye Association of School Administrators, the Greater Cleveland School Superintendents Association, the National Council for Teachers of Mathematics, the National Science Teachers Association, and the National Association of School Negotiators.
He has experience as a board member at Southwest General Health Center, the Cuyahoga County Educational Service Center P-16 Council, the Ohio Mathematics and Science Coalition and the Great Lakes Science Center, to name a few.
Krivak's extensive experience and involvement in both the education and greater community, and his work with area public officials and state legislators will be an asset to the district.
His experience as a superintendent, administrator, teacher and education professional, and his knowledge in negotiating contacts, will serve the district and community well and allow the Board of Education the necessary time to conduct a thorough and systematic search for a permanent superintendent.
