National Blue Ribbon Schools in North Olmsted and Rocky River

Six Cuyahoga County schools, two Summit County schools and one school in Medina, Ashland and Wayne counties were among the seventeen Ohio schools recognized as National Blue Ribbon Schools for the 2012 school year by the U.S. Department of Education (USDOE).

FHS honors alumni serving in military

The Fairview Park Youth Foundation donated a display case to Fairview High School to honor our alumni serving in various branches of the United States Armed Forces. The heading of the display case reads "Fairview American Warriors" and contains pictures and brief biographies of the young people serving our country.

Office Max surprises Birch teacher

North Olmsted Office Max staff and Birch Principal Frank Samerigo surprised 3rd grade teacher Barb Lavelle, as part of the national "A Day Made Better" event. Office Max donated over $1,000 in classroom supplies to Barb's class, and a full pallet of supplies donated by Office Max customers and corporations to Birch School.

The Rocky River Board of Education, the Rocky River Teachers Association (RRTA), and the Ohio Association of Public School Employees, Chapter 381 (OAPSE) have agreed to extend the current collectively bargained contracts for an additional year and to freeze base pay for a third consecutive year.

Magnificat's 'Night-in-Blue'

The Fathers' and Mothers' Clubs of Magnificat High School are sponsoring the 55th Annual Night-in-Blue Bazaar and Pasta Dinner on Saturday, November 3, Mass at 4:00 in the Performing Arts Center followed by the Bazaar from 5-10 p.m., and Sunday, November 4, 4-9 p.m. at Magnificat High School.

The Victory Flag was flying high at Rocky River High School. The celebration was for three seniors who have especially distinguished themselves academically. Allison Beer, Harry Konangi and Alec Temes have achieved remarkable distinctions.
